Bats and Bones and Pirates

Well it is Halloween in the northern hemisphere, although it is a good excuse to dress up isn't it?... or dress some children up? or do some spooky craft? or buy some gruesome accessories? Yes?
Good, i'm glad you agree because although Sedonia may not seem to have a dark side, it turns out we do!

From the excellent ladies at Harvest we have Bat in a Bag! Sew your own little bat friend (there are also friendly owls and raining cloud sewing kits if that's more your thing)
For your little budding pirate or explorer or if you feel like covering yourself in temporary tattoos and leaving messages in bottles we have wonderful kits of compasses, sailing boats and other old fashioned maritime themed toys and games.
From Meow Girl, who is a clever lady from Sydney we have boney bracelets and necklaces that are wickedly loverly.
So there you have it, the Halloween low down from Sedonia... no Tricks just Treats!

Dream Weavers

Woven rugs, mats, super sizes baskets and carry all bags in natural woven jute and hessian are in stock now! The bags could be useful as a sturdy shopping bag, clothes hamper or filled up with blocks and lego as toy storage if being organised is your cup of tea.

Hats Off To You!

Travel Straw Hats by Hayden Longhurst are in store now. The Travel Straw hats are fabulous, as their name suggests, for travelling as they can be crunched and crushed up into your suitcase and then amazingly unpacked without a worry, they will never lose their shape. How Clever is That?

Elk have made some chic and stylish trilby and panama hats, they are unisex and perfect for those sunny days at music festivals, beach romps and park picnics... Ease back into a canvas deck chair, put some cider in a Willow esky, listen to Neil Young on a Sunday afternoon in your backyard and don a hat, I say!

Blink... and You'll Miss Out!

New from wonderful Melbourne based Blink Designs are porcelain necklaces and brooches... Ballerinas, Horses, Hearts, Cameos and many other darling designs in store now!

A Very Hairy Fathers Day

There have been lots of beards around lately, have you noticed?
Have men become lazy or gone a bit colonial or are  rugged? For the bearded father we have beardy plates, egg cups, mugs and tea towels by Donna Wilson
(And if your Dad is not so whiskery we have some lovely shave balm too)

There's a Girl in My Tea

Oh the pretty little people who live on these ceramic wares by Ingrid Tufts are so sweet, the sets of three dishes stack into one another like little babushka's or can be used singularly as teacups.
Which character are you?
the mademoiselle, madame or monsieur  ?

Magic Lamps

MRD are an Australian based interior company and they make some of the finest lamps and light shades around. As you can see... Vintage wall paper styles and textural fabrics make it difficult to choose!

Marimekko My Day

Oh Marimekko, how do you do it?
We have quite a selection of goodies from Marimekko at the moment, teatowels, trays, shower curtains and the ussual assortment of tea cups, mugs, plates, bowls and stunning teapots.

Times Tables

New to Sedonia is this console table, made in New Zealand from recycled timber. We actually have quite a few lovely tables for sale in the shop, vintage farmhouse kitchen tables, recycled timber trestles, industrial zinc topped tables with wheels and a fold up timber and metal set with matching benches.
*Sigh* have you ever been so overwhelmed by tables?
And the beautiful organic, sustainable and hand printed textiles ON the table are by Thea and Sami... Their blog can be peeped at here:

We have slashed our Ugglebo boots in half... the price we mean, originally $299
they are now $149
And they are so lovely, buckle and zip, ankle high with sturdy timber soles. Bargain Booties!!!

Travels with my Aunt

Having just finished reading Graham Greene's Travels with My Aunt I am feeling the travel itch, although I cannot afford to take the Orient Express to Istanbul or a river cruise in South America I can enjoy a world map or postcard themed box, perfect for storing post cards, letters, souvenirs and other treasures from far off lands and those adventures yet to come. Available in four sizes and three different patterns.

Red and Blue Baggu

Red and Blue canvas Baggu back packs are super kawaii and useful. Plenty of buckles and drawstrings and pockets to keep you from too much bag rummaging! Decorate with badges and scarves and key rings and viola! you'll have satisfied your bag fetish with an ergonomic and stylish new pal.

The Craft of Space

Spacecraft screen printed cushions this season are brightly bold yet thoughtfully nostalgic; thistle prints, old photographs and paperback novels to soften and spruce your personal spaces. Clever and Crafty!

The Simple Treasures

I have been bee stung on my finger by a bee, my dog got bitten by another dog and a thunder storm seems immanent this afternoon however I must simply remember some simple treasures; a bucket of bakers twine, mechanical khol pencils in fresh colours and wrapping paper that doubles as a paper doll game, little treats on grey afternoons are a few of my favourite things.

Something to Sneeze At

Feeling the sniffles coming on? Perhaps you should equip yourself with a good old fashioned handkerchief by Hanky Panky, there are girly ones, lady like ones, boyish ones and ones for misters and sirs too because everybody gets a bit sneezey don't they?

To Market, To Market

If your not in love with your green bag perhaps a woven jute basket would make supermarket trips a little sweeter. Available in large, medium and small sizes, and a teeny tiny size for little shoppers too.

A little bird told me

Noisy gifts for children aren't always a great idea however, lovely french brand Moulin Roty have made the exception to the rule: ceramic and wooden bird call whistles that come in darling little boxes. Are you a whistler or a warbler or a cuckoo or a turtle dove?

Colour My World

Lots of lovely little coloured circles around the shop. These gorgeous ceramic and silver rings by Anne Black and fun little felt balls, which also make fantastic pin cushions! Brilliant!

Sweet Seats

Nostalgically coloured childrens chairs have arrived at Sedonia. I feel like Goldilocks, these chairs are too small for me but there are certainly some little peeps who they would be just right for.

Cosy Toes

Go for a walk, get on the train, sit in the library, take a look at the ankles around you, is it not a nice suprise when you catch that little glimpse of a cute patterned sock between the cuff of jeans and the edge of a shoe? A nice woolly colour or perhaps one blue sock and one red sock? Suddenly, the world is sneaky and fun and you will be glad to know the fun sock people exist and are proudly supported by Sedonia.

Extremely Nice Kitchen Things

Getting ready for chilly autumn, I plan to spend lots of time in the kitchen baking bread and borsch and shortbread and lovely hearty tummy warming meals. Sedonia have plenty of lovely enamel kitchenware, old fashioned and useful as well as plenty of cleaning accessories, wooden spoons, cookie cutters, measuring spoons and oh so much more.

Scrubbing Day!

Pippi Longstocking's scrubbing day was a song and dance routine: sliding around with scrubbing brushes atatched to her feet. I wonder if Pippi used these lovely scrubbers, feather dusters and bottle brushes to keep her big old house clean. Sedonia is now stocking these German made Burstenhaus Redecker cleaning accessories to make rainy day cleaning a little bit chirpier.           Think Pippi!

Acacia Wood Kitchenware: Woodn't it be Nice?

I can just picture a paprika seasoned hommus in one of these bowls, or rolling out some naan dough with an acacia rolling pin, serving a rustic home made pizza on the pizza platter, or putting to good culinary use a solid acacia chopping board. These earthy, unique acacia wood home wares are in store now.
